Misleading Pieces

On this page I will present some of the pieces that have been mistaken for Ridgway at times. Where they are attributable to another factory I will state the attribution.

New Hall

New Hall jugs and mugs have been mistaken for early Ridgway sprigged wares. As can be seen from the photographs below they do have a certain similarity. The handle form is, however, quite different.

The mug is 85mm high and 95mm in diameter. The handle protrudes 29mm.

See David Holgate, New Hall (London, 1987), p.107, pl.94.
